What to expect

  1. 1

    Filerimos Hill

    60 min
    Monastery & Church entrance (optional)€6

We begin our tour at Filerimos Hill, where peacocks roam freely along a shaded pine alley. At the end of the path stands the impressive 15–16 metre cross, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the west coast of Rhodes. Along the way, you can visit the Monastery and the Church of Our Lady of Filerimos (optional entrance €6 per person). Here lies the ancient Acropolis of Ialysos, one of the three city-states of ancient Rhodes, which played a leading role in the synoecism of 408/407 B.C. Only the foundations remain of the Doric temples of Athena Polias and Zeus Polieus, interspersed with medieval buildings. The temple of Athena was a hexastyle peripheral building with a tetrastyle pronaos and a Corinthian column arrangement inside the cella forming a U-shape around the cult statue. While the temple dates back to the late 4th century B.C., worship on the plateau goes back at least to the 9th century B.C. In the 5th–6th centuries A.D., part of the temple was replaced by a large three-aisled early Christian basilica, with the baptistery still preserved in good condition.

  2. 2

    Butterflies Valley (Petaloudes)

    60 min
    Butterflies Valley entrance€6

Our next stop is the enchanting Butterflies Valley, also known as Petaloudes — a peaceful natural park on the western side of Rhodes. During the summer months, thousands of butterflies gather here, creating a unique and magical atmosphere. Set within a shaded green canyon with wooden bridges and gentle streams, the valley offers a refreshing escape into nature. Guests can walk along scenic paths, enjoy the tranquil surroundings and spot butterflies resting on trees or fluttering through the forest. A perfect stop to relax, reconnect with nature and capture beautiful photos of one of Rhodes' most charming landscapes.

  3. 3

    Seven Springs (Epta Piges)

    60 min

Our final stop takes us to Seven Springs (Epta Piges), a refreshing natural oasis hidden within a pine forest in the heart of Rhodes. This peaceful landscape combines flowing spring waters, shaded walking paths and a small lake surrounded by lush greenery. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll through the forest, cross the narrow tunnel leading to the lake (for the more adventurous), or simply unwind in the cool, tranquil atmosphere. The area offers beautiful photo opportunities and a chance to experience a quieter, untouched side of the island — a perfect nature escape that adds balance and serenity to your Rhodes experience.
